Your local therapist may not speak her language
An Arabic-dominant child assessed only in English is often flagged for sounds that are perfectly correct in Arabic — or has a real difficulty missed entirely. We assess in the language she thinks in.
Dialect is a clinical detail, not a preference
The Arabic ج is /g/ in Cairo and /d͡ʒ/ in the Gulf. The same sound is a correct production in one dialect and a substitution in another, so we match the therapist to the Arabic your family actually speaks.

A note on scope. Lableb is therapy and parent coaching delivered online. It is not a medical diagnosis, and it does not replace an in-person assessment where one is needed — hearing, feeding and swallowing in particular need someone in the room. If that is what your child needs, we will tell you rather than book you.

Common questions
My child mixes Arabic and English. Is that the problem?
Almost certainly not. Bilingualism does not cause speech or language disorders, and code-mixing is normal. What it does do is make an assessment in only one language unreliable — which is exactly the gap we exist to close.
Can the therapist explain things to me in English?
Yes. Tell us in the form. The session with your child runs in Arabic; the parent briefing, the home programme and the progress notes can be in English.
Does online therapy actually work for a young child?
For speech and language goals, with a parent sitting beside the child, the evidence is good. It works less well when a child cannot yet attend to a screen at all — if that is your child, we will say so at the free assessment.
How does the time difference work?
Times are always shown in your timezone. You pick what suits your child and the therapist sees it converted to hers.
Which currency am I charged in?
Egyptian pounds. An international Visa or Mastercard works and your bank converts at its own rate — we do not add a markup. We are working on charging in local currency directly.
